Karen achieved her art therapy training at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute and has been in practice since 2002. Karen provides art and verbal psychotherapy for individuals and groups with a wide range of presenting challenges including chronic physical and/or mental health challenges, cognitive impairment, issues related to aging, Alzheimer’s/dementia, recovery from stroke, depression, anxiety, and healing from addiction. Karen utilizes a person-centered approach to tailor sessions to meet the unique needs of her clients.
In 2016, Karen co-authored 'Empowerment and Art Therapy with Marginalized Populations in Long-Term Care: A Team Perspective' found here. In 2020, Karen co-presented at the Canadian Art Therapy Association Conference where she shared her experience providing front line Art Therapy in long term during the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Andrea achieved her Masters of Creative Arts Therapies at Concordia University and practiced art therapy for 13 years. Her clinical work has spanned diverse long-term care and community settings throughout Ontario and New Brunswick. Andrea also co-authored 'Empowerment and Art Therapy with Marginalized Populations in Long-Term Care: A Team Perspective' (2016) found here. Andrea previously held the positions of Art Therapist, Administrative Coordinator and now acts as Director of Education, Development and Design. |
Heather achieved her art therapy training from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute after a vibrant career as a graphic designer in the corporate and private sector. She has been practicing art therapy since 2013. Heather’s areas of practice include supporting persons living with mental health diagnoses, developmental disabilities, complex physical disabilities, and supporting persons living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Over the past ten years, she has facilitated therapeutic self-care programs addressing burnout and compassion fatigue. Heather is a highly skilled and passionate encaustic artist and has presented as a speaker at numerous national Canadian Art Therapy and Ontario Art Therapy Association conferences. Bertha achieved her art therapy training at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute and started practicing in 2021. She specializes in supporting the mental health of older adults and is passionate about integrating nature into her sessions. Her graduate level thesis explored the intersections between art making, nature and psychotherapy practice. Bertha incorporates theories of positive psychology, client-centered approach, and mindfulness in her practice. |
Sammy received her art therapy training from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute and began practicing in 2018. She specializes in working with elders, persons living with dementia, and persons recovering from stroke. She has worked in diverse long term care, hospital and community based settings. Sammy works from a person-centered, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approach, with an interest in narrative therapy and mindfulness based therapy. Her graduate level thesis explored the use of photo-catalysts in art therapy with elders living with dementia.

Erica received her graduate-level diploma in Art Therapy from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute in 2021. She specializes in working with older adults in long-term care, and people whose first language is not English. She has provided art therapy for older adults with dementia, multiple chronic illnesses, and adults living with eating disorders. Her clinical work has spanned rehabilitation and long-term care units in hospital settings to community mental health organisations. Erica integrates humanistic, person-centered approaches to her relationship with clients, and is always looking for ways to expand her perspective and awareness. She believes that Art Therapy can help eliminate physical and even linguistic barriers when individuals are given space and support to make their own creative statement.
Mollia received her art therapy training at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute. She specializes in supporting adults living with anxiety, depression, stress or pain management, and other mood or mental health concerns. She also specializes in supporting individuals living with a terminal illness, in addition to grief and loss. Mollia works from a person-centered approach and integrates mindfulness, humanistic theoretical approaches and advocacy based art therapy into her work.
